Residents who find themselves with holiday lights that won’t work can dispose of them at Savage City Hall. The City of Savage is a drop off site for Recycling Association of Minnesota’s Recycle Your Holidays program. Boxes for the lights are located just inside the main doors of Savage City Hall, and are accessible 24 hours a day.
The program provides an easy, free and efficient way for people to rid themselves of lights that won’t turn on – no matter how many bulbs are replaced. By dropping the inoperable strings in the box at City Hall, residents ensure the lights won’t end up in a landfill. Every part of each light strand will be removed and recycled. Homeowners are encouraged to replace the lights with energy efficient LED models.
