Residents of the City of Savage are served by two public transit entities: Minnesota Valley Transit Authority (MVTA) Scott County Transit
- The MVTA provides public transportation alternatives for Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, Rosemount and Savage, including express bus service to Minneapolis, St. Paul, Bloomington and Edina. Offerings include park and ride lots, guaranteed ride home program, vanpools, carpool matching and bike information. Local all-day service is provided throughout the southern suburbs.
- The City of Savage is served by 4 separate bus routes and a park and ride located at 141st Street and Huntington Avenue.

- The MVTA also has a 24-hour information line, which is 952.882.7500.
- Scott County Transit provides Dial-A-Ride and transit services for persons with disabilities. The service is a reservation-only, shared ride transit service providing door-to-door assistance with buses that are wheelchair lift-equipped. Scott County Transit integrates with the Dial-A-Ride services of the surrounding communities to provide service within the seven county metro area. Reservations can be made by calling 952.496.8341.
- Commuter service to downtown Minneapolis is provided through Blue Xpress, operating jointly by Scott County transit and the cities of Prior Lake and Shakopee. Bus service locations include Southbridge Crossing Transit station in Shakopee and Shepard of the Lake Park and Ride in Prior Lake. For more information, visit the Scott County Transit website.
