Fire Prevention Week Open House

This year Fire Prevention Week is October 5 - 11th. This year's theme is:

“Working Smoke Alarms Save Lives:  Test Yours Every Month!”

As in the past, we will have several crews at the different elementary schools and daycare centers to talk about fire safety.

Our annual Fire Prevention Week Open House will be Tuesday, October 7, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. As is the pas, we will have free food, door prizes, fire truck rides and demonstrations. We hope you are able to join us.

Annual Events

Our firefighters spend countless hours hosting and working at the various events throughout the year.

Dan Patch Days - June 19 - 22, 2014

At our annual pancake breakfast we served over 1100 people and gave several tours of the fire station and the trucks.

Thanks to everyone that attended!

Night to Unite- The First Tuesday of August

This year's Night to Unite was another success. Between Police, fire, city officials and representation from the State Patrol we visited 65 Block parties.

Halloween Party

The Savage Fire Department hosts an annual Halloween party for the community. This is a safe environment in which young children, ages newborn to 12 years, may visit the firefighters, play games and be able to leave with some candy, prizes and most of all, a smile on their face. This year's event is Friday October 31st, our department has been hosting this annual event for nearly 30 years.

Fundraising Events

The Savage Fire Department has three fundraisers each year:

Pancake Breakfast & Open House
Held in conjunction with Dan Patch Days; at our Dakota Avenue Fire Station, this event is open to the general public and has been very successful. Approximately 800 people attend this event. 2014 marked our 17th annual breakfast.
Fundraiser Dinner
The department sells 100 tickets for this event. Each ticket, for two, is $150. These tickets are most commonly purchased by business owners. There is a steak or chicken dinner and cash drawings are held. This event is typically held the second Monday of October.
This fundraiser was started in 1999. A committee was formed to sell advertising on a calendar. The firefighters hand deliver the calendars to the residents in Savage around Fire Prevention Week.
