Upcoming Fire Events

Dakota Avenue Fire Station

Dakota Avenue Fire Station No. 60

Open House

Our 2013 Open House was well attended again this year, we had  fantastic weather and a great turnout, over 450 people.

There was a lot of interest in the fire extinguisher and CPR demonstrations, as always the fire trucks rides, were a big hit!

Annual Events

Our firefighters spend countless hours hosting and working at the various events throughout the year.

Dan Patch Days - June 19 - 22, 2014

The Savage Fire Department has been very active in past Dan Patch Days celebrations. Unfortunately bad weather forced the committee to cancel the 2013 event, however we were able to host of annual pancake breakfast.

Night to Unite- The First Tuesday of August

The Savage Fire Department also participates in Night to Unite when each piece of equipment is disbursed in different neighborhoods and firefighters answer questions residents may have regarding the fire service in our community. This year Night to Unite is scheduled for Tuesday August 5th, look for additional details for scheduling a visit from the police and/or fire department at your party that evening.

Fire Prevention Week

Each year several of our firefighter's visit our local elementary schools and daycare centers to speak with the different classes to talk to them about fire prevention and what they can do to help keep their families and their home safe from fire.

Halloween Party

The Savage Fire Department hosts an annual Halloween party for the community. This is a safe environment in which young children, ages newborn to 12 years, may visit the firefighters, play games and be able to leave with some candy, prizes and most of all, a smile on their face. Our department has been hosting this annual event for nearly 30 years.

Fundraising Events

The Savage Fire Department has three fundraisers each year:

Pancake Breakfast & Open House
Held in conjunction with Dan Patch Days; at our Dakota Avenue Fire Station, this event is open to the general public and has been very successful. Approximately 800 people attend this event. 2014 will be our mark our 17th annual breakfast.
Fundraiser Dinner
The department sells 100 tickets for this event. Each ticket, for two, is $150. These tickets are most commonly purchased by business owners. There is a steak or chicken dinner and cash drawings are held. This event is typically held the second Monday of October.
This fundraiser was started in 1999. A committee was formed to sell advertising on a calendar. The firefighters hand deliver the calendars to the residents in Savage around Fire Prevention Week.
