The City of Savage and local businesses annually sponsor the Show Off Savage Photo Contest. Show us what makes you most proud about your community by entering your best pictures. Recent photographs that represent the Savage community and taken by those who live, work or attend school in Savage are eligible. Download Entry Form. Download Rules.

RULES
Photographs taken by those who live, work or attend school in Savage are eligible. Photographs must have been taken recently, and must represent the community of Savage.
- People: Featuring people talking, working, learning, playing, living, volunteering, etc. in Savage.
- Places: Focusing on different places in Savage that are unique to our community.
- Life in Savage: Reflecting what you do or see every day, preferably in a setting that is unmistakably in
Savage. Examples include children putting on a play in their backyard, fire trucks on their way to a scene, a snow plow clearing the roads, students getting on a school bus, neighbors talking in front of their homes, a transaction at a concession stand. Entrants should refrain from submitting close up, nature shots. A photo of a girl holding a butterfly is much preferred over a photo of just the butterfly.
- Organized Events & Activities: Sports, plays, community celebrations, block parties. Examples include a summer evening softball game, National Night Out celebrations, an art class, etc.
Up to 5 color or black and white photographs may be submitted by each entrant, accompanied by an Entry Form for each. A title and caption describing the photo also are required. Photographs are to be submitted according to the following specifications:
- Format: Prints must be 8 x 10 inches on photo-quality paper. Digital files must be of high resolution (300 dpi at a size of at least 5 X 7 inches, with 8 X 10 preferred). Electronic files may be submitted on a CD or by email to

. Slides and photocopies will not be accepted.
- Portraits: The person portrayed must provide a signature indicating that public use of the photo is permitted. (See Entry Form)
The 3-member judging panel will include a professional photographer and a communications professional. Awards will be given based on overall quality, lighting, creativity and how well the photograph portrays Savage. The City reserves the right not to award prizes if a suitable photograph has not been entered. Grand Prize Adult Division: $100 Cash Grand Prize Youth Division: To be determined. First place: Gift certificates to local businesses will be awarded for the top photo in each category, each division. 4 p.m., July 28, 2010 Entries should be submitted to the Show Off Savage Photo Contest, City of Savage, 6000 McColl Drive, Savage, Minn. 55378. All photographs received will become the property of the City of Savage and may be used in future communication efforts or projects.
