A primary responsibility of local government is to ensure the safety of the community. In Savage, protection is provided through three Public Safety divisions. These include a full-time police department, a volunteer fire department, and a contracted ambulance service. All can be contacted through the dialing of three easy numbers: 9-1-1. The Scott County Sheriffs Department handles the dispatching of fire, police, and ambulance personnel to the scenes of all emergencies in Savage.
